Blog Archives on hand analysis

Access loads of useful, in-depth information about how to read your own hands using modern hand analysis.

Hi, I’m Jena Griffiths, a master hand analyst living in Switzerland. This blog archive was written by me over a number of years. All posts before 2009 are currently being moved from an older blog that is now offline to this blog…
Please be patient!
😀
There are still a few hiccups to iron out so please shout if any images are no longer visible so that I can find and fix…

Why did I write this stuff? I believe that enlightenment also means ‘lighten up’. We heal the planet by healing ourselves.

I’m on this planet to bring the idea that we are magical beings to a wider audience. It’s what keeps us going and what we fear most.

I think hand analysis is a master key to achieving this aim. Our hands are our treasure houses, they reveal the giant within and are so tangible and difficult to ignore (being right in front of our noses).

Each of us is born with a map at our fingertips so we can’t get lost. Our highest actualization point (life purpose) and the issues we chose to work through in this life time (life lessons) are encoded in our fingerprints. The cosmic joke is, it’s so obvious why haven’t we noticed before?

Reading my older posts makes me realize I’ve got way too serious recently. Time to lighten up and reconnect … write and tell me how I’m doing.

Is your nose right after all?
The dangers of thinking others know better

A friend of mine has a really special nose.
I swear she must have stolen it from
the sphinx. It’s as broad as it is long
and it looks just like a pyramid.
Full of secrets and with an energy of its own.

It doesn’t just sit there like other noses
frozen in the spotlight.
Instead, it expresses itself.

How so?

It flares up and butts in
just when you least expect it to.
And, on those rare occasions when it stands
firm, that’s when it really makes a point.

Why?
Because this is how it reveals thoughts
that run in flagrant opposition to whatever
its owner is actually saying at the time.

So, when I’m not sure who to believe,
I always go with the nose!

The sad thing about this masterpiece is that its
owner thinks it needs fixing.

Why?
It’s not the airbrushed variety one sees gracing
the glossies.

Why am I telling you this?

The other day I read this amazing quote:

“We only need to heal until we realize that we have
been just fine all along…
As soon as we say, ‘I’m done fixing myself!’
Then we can really get on with things, forgetting the healing,
and beginning the revealing.” ~ Robin Rice ~

Fact is, there really is nothing wrong with you, or any part of you.
You are not flawed. There’s nothing to fix but plenty to discover.

We get taught at a really early age to
focus on what’s wrong with us, rather than what’s right.
And it’s not just our physical bodies under attack.

We ‘re progressively conditioned to feel smaller than
who we really are, inadequate and incomplete.

You can tell when children have had this lesson one
time too often, because that’s when the light goes right
out of their eyes.

It’s a kind of ripening process. Or rather a rotting.
You’re ripe for the picking as soon as the rot sets in.

Why?

Because suddenly you’re ripe for marketers to
sell you anything that might fix you. A myriad
magic potions and other recipes for completion.

Buy this and you’ll be ok. Rub this cream on
your nose and you’ll be loved.
Or maybe only a bright red Ferrari will do the trick?

Actually it’s not your nose you need to fix
but your focus.

And your ability to really see yourself clearly in all your
magnificence.

You are a beautiful being. Perfect just as you are.
And far more wonderful than you imagine.

This is something you already know deep down in
your heart of hearts.

So how can you shift your focus?

Start listening to your nose more closely.

Acknowledge yourself where others don’t.

Also, be nosy about yourself in a positive way.

Stick your nose into all your own business
and catch yourself each time you do something right
rather than something wrong. And give yourself
enough pleasure to make your nose flare each time,
no matter how small the act may seem.

Success is a process, not a destination.
And every step in the right direction deserves applause.

One of the best ways to acknowledge yourself is to get
your hands analysed.

Your hands show you what’s right with you.

Your incredible potential. Your gifts, strengths or talents
and what you have to do to bring your higher
possibilities into the sunshine.

And as for your nose?
Trust it and follow it.
And allow it to shine more often.
It’s magnificent and it nose it.

Is your life in danger of being hijacked?
How not to get shamed out of your dreams

In some countries there is a very real danger of being hijacked
and having your car stolen. In other countries it’s your biggest
dreams that get taken, right from under your nose.

I’m not sure which is worse. A gun squeezed against your temple
for your car keys, or a dream squeezed out of you at an early
age.

In Switzerland, more than any other country, the risks of having
your car keys taken are virtually nil. I’ve left my keys in the
ignition for years and I can’t seem to tempt anyone! (But then
maybe this is a reflection of my car rather than the country!)
🙂
Still, dream hijacking is huge. And just because you can’t see
the violence, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

So, how do dreams get hijacked?

Have you ever watched a frigate bird in action?

This is a big black sea bird. Frigates are the pirates of the
bird world.
They even look like pirates! These birds hover up high waiting
for other seabirds to catch a fish.
As soon as they spot one with a full beak they dive bomb. The
poor gull gets such a fright they drop their dinner and the
frigate scoops up the bounty without missing a wing beat.

Something similar happens in the human world. It’s called shame
and humiliation. Children are most vulnerable to being shamed or
humiliated. So are people who haven’t really examined who they
are and what they stand for. You get bumped and whoops. Next
minute you’re on another track, and your life feels empty.

How does this work?

Something happens to cause you to feel deeply shamed. (You get
dive-bombed) This is an unbearable feeling and often the only
solution is to simply numb out. The more you numb out, the more
you lose touch with your core desires. (You drop your fish, the
one thing that feeds you.) This then causes you to numb out even
more. You’re no longer connected to your feelings. Now anything
can happen. You have no boundaries, maybe even no respect. You
become putty in anyone’s hands, easily molded. This causes even
more numbness and eventually (if you’re lucky!) anger or
depression.

Why lucky? Well then you know something’s wrong and you can fix
it.

This sounds extreme and it can be, especially in cases of sexual
violation. But what about shaming as a form of social control,
by teachers or over-authoritarian parents? We get trained to
tow the line, conform, be responsible and quit dreaming. So we
put our deepest dreams on hold, often for an entire lifetime.
Sometimes the only way to cope with this violation is to numb
out completely to your heart’s calling. We become numb to our
own feelings and deep passions. Sometimes this numbness is so
deep and has lasted so long we don’t even know it exists!

So, what can we do?
We can find out who we really are and what we really want. A
very good way to do this is through hand analysis.

Also, ask yourself: who really is steering my life?

If you don’t choose what you want to do with every minute of
your life, someone else will do this for you!

Look back at your last week, last month, last year.
To what extent did you do what you really wanted or was it
someone else’s idea?

Sometimes we think we are steering but actually we aren’t!

How so?

We are creatures of habit and habitual thinking. Most of our
habits come from our parents or early teachers.
As Bob Proctor says: “You are the product of someone else’s
habitual way of thinking.”

To what extent are you conscious of the habits and belief
systems controlling your life? To what extent are you making
decisions based on faulty thinking inherited from your family:
generational fear, ignorance, stories told over and over? We
can’t change what we are not aware of.

The good news?
You can change any habit or belief you like. It takes only 21
days of willpower and then the new habit/belief becomes
automatic and runs on autopilot.
The problem is, we often don’t know what faulty thinking is
running our lives. If you don’t know what to change, you can’t
change it!

Questions I ask myself: what are the secondary benefits to
staying blocked? What am I currently getting out of not moving
forward?

To what extent are you aware of the choices you make and your
core values?
And to what extent are you in touch with your deepest heart’s
desire: Your soul’s calling?

Are you being blocked from living your passions by faulty family
thinking? Or are you being blocked by shame?

The more you explore what’s really blocking you, and what you
value, the freer you become to live the life of your dreams.

The way I see it, here are 4 steps: 1. Explore who you are (hand analysis)
2. Explore what you really want. Are your wants really your
wants?
3. Explore what you stand for (your values)
4. Figure out what’s blocking you.

Why know your values? Because if you know what you stand for you
can’t get bumped/humiliated.
Also, if your wants clash with your values then they are probably
not your wants but someone else’s.

Here’s a small example from my life. The other day I went to
visit a friend and I took a video with me of my son ‘practicing’
his violin. I thought the video was rather funny but my friend
was horrified. There he was, strumming this delicate precious
instrument singing, ‘I’ve got a little guitar, oh yeah!’
Actually she was more than horrified. It was painful for her to
even look at the video and she chastised me for allowing it.
If I didn’t have a clear idea of what my values are, that I
value creative expression over material object, I may have felt
deeply shamed and would have started tightening up on Jules in
ways that don’t align with my heart.

But let’s push this to the extreme. What if he stomps on his
violin and sets fire to it like Jimmy Hendrix?
I’ll probably just strangle him! He can do that when he’s a
virtuoso and bought the thing himself.
Yes, Jules does have to learn to respect and care for his
instrument and, as his mother, this is my responsibility to
teach. But I believe he also has to be free to experiment.
Where to draw the line? There are no right and wrong answers
here. It is just a question of values and why you need to be
completely clear about what you personally treasure most.

What do you value most in life? Freedom or security? Beauty or
creative expression? Family or independence? Pure air or owing a
car? Once you know what you stand for you cannot be shifted off
course by other people. You cannot be shamed. You will be less
likely to drop your fish when a frigate dive-bombs you. You’re
prepared! You’ve thought about the subject and made a conscious,
rather than unconscious choice.

Back to blocked passions and finding out what yours are. There’s
Hand analysis for showing you where you are blocked. And there’s
David Neagle for helping you leapfrog over faulty family
thinking.

How do blocked passions show up in hands?

This issue can show up in the fingerprints or in the lines.
If it shows up in the fingerprints, this is a major issue in
your life.
How does it show up in fingerprints? The lowest ranked
fingerprint is on left index finger.
And in Lines? Look for a combination of these:
An attack line to the Pluto area (anger from
thwarted ambitions) or career line
An attack line to Saturn (a depression indicator)
An index finger that bends away from the thumb (a power giveaway
marker)
A heart line that has fork down into the Mars area (can’t say
no)
A co-dependency line (not in own movie)
A career line that starts inside the lifeline (parent’s chose
career)
Bubbles, Grills, diamonds or boxes under the middle finger or on
the headline (indecision etc related to career)
A bubble on the bottom of the lifeline (a burden of family
expectations).
These just some of many examples.

they can help you to better understand yourself and others,

How rats can change your fortune.

Just when I thought all the hullabaloo of New Year was over
along comes Marie Diamond (Feng shui guru of gurus) with the reminder that 7 February is New Year according to the Chinese scheme of things.

You might think, I’m not Chinese! What has this got to do with me? ! A lot actually because this calendar is tied in to energetic moon cycles that affect the entire planet. This is not a hard and fast fixed date like our New Year is, but varies from year to year.

The first time I really took notice of this calendar was when my son was born 9 years ago in Phuket. His Thai birth certificate says he was born in the year 2542! (year of the rabbit). They count the years from Buddha not Christ).
Funnily enough he was born on Easter Sunday, which is one of the few days on our calendar that ‘floats’ the way the Chinese NY does. (Also, being year of the rabbit, he really is the Easter Bunny!)

The other day I overheard him talking to friends. He told them, although we celebrate his birthday on 4 April, his real birthday is the 8th!
I chipped in with, ‘Huh…..???? How do you work that out?’ and he said, ‘Well, I was born on Easter Sunday and Easter Sunday was the 8th!
This started me off on a rather convoluted explanation of how Easter Sunday is different every year and when he was born it just happened to be on the 4th. In response, he very quickly pointed out how lucky he was having 2 birthdays every year instead of just one like everyone else!

We’re not all as lucky as Jules to have two birthdays a year, but we can all enjoy two New Years quite legitimately if we’re willing to embrace the opportunity.

So, if you’ve already blown your New Year’s resolutions, here’s your second chance! Tell everyone you work according to the Chinese calendar, which is far more ‘in tune’ with your inner needs!

What has this got to do with luck, let alone hand analysis?

We each have 3 kinds of luck. One third is Heaven luck, one third Human luck and one third Earth luck.

Heaven luck has to do with everything you were born into. The day and place you were born, your gender, the family you were born into etc. For a hand analysis point of view, your dermatoglyphics (fingerprint pattern) is part of your heaven luck.

Why? Your fingerprints show your highest and lowest energy before you were born (from a family epigenetics point of view or a karmic wound point of view depending on what you believe). This is the part of you that needs to be grown. The real reason why you are on this planet.

Your hands also show your Human luck: Your talents, temperament and other personality resources and how you can best use those resources.Earth luck is not visible in your hands. But you can use your hands to change Earth luck more easily than the other two lucks.

How? By consciously manipulating your environment, adding, removing or moving objects that cause either beneficial or harmful energies into your surroundings. This can be obvious, like electro smoke or radioactive material or subtler, like Feng shui activators. You can also use your hands to improve the energy around you with intention.

So, how can you hop into the Chinese NY on the right foot?

Between now and the 7th Feb, change your doormats for a fresh start. Activate various Feng shui stars if you are into that sort of thing. For example, bring abundance in your life by putting a long pointy quartz crystal in the East part of your home.

And what’s with the Rat?

Marie Diamond’s advice:
“To bring the support of the Earth Rat year into your life, place a small (two to three inches) quartz crystal or a yellow or gold stone such as amber in the North area of your living room or workplace. Look for one that has a long shape so it resembles the shape of a little mouse. If your Chinese astrological animal is the Rat, or if you are the Rat’s ally or secret friend (Dragon, Monkey, and Ox), place an image or object of a mouse or rat instead of the crystal. For children this can even be a cartoon image if preferred.”

So, to risk being told I’m repeating myself…..Happy New Year!!!
; ))

Day 8 – Eight ways to change your luck

click here to read day 8
Everything is energy and everything in your life influences your energy.

On the 8th day of dreaming I bring you
8 ways to change your fortune:

The 3 lucks and the 5 basic steps to get the energy flowing in your life.

The other day I was listening to the feng shui guru of gurus, Marie Diamond, talking about the three ‘lucks’ in our lives. This reminded me of a small-framed sign that used to amuse me as a child. I could almost anticipate which homes would have it. Usually the homes of little old ladies and usually it hung in the hallway or kitchen with a small image of praying hands or a sunset or something similar.

I’m talking about the serenity prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr: ‘God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.’ There was a smugness and resignation about it that got up my nose even as a child. I’m not sure exactly what it was, but I hated this sign with a passion and anyone who hung it immediately scored a black mark in my book. (Not that they could care less what that horrible bushy eye-browed brat thought anyway!)

But now that I am tiptoeing gradually in the direction of ‘little-old-ladydom’ I’m thinking that maybe that prayer had some wisdom in it after all! There are things we can change and things we can’t. Yet still there is a part of me that totally rebels against this idea.

There is a lot more we can change than we realise.

Marie Diamond talks about heaven luck, human luck and earth luck. With the idea that you have no direct control over heaven luck though you can influence it by changing your human and earth luck. I disagree.

Granted some ‘heaven luck’ things we can’t change, such as ‘place of birth: Boksburg’ or the astrological moment of your birth, or your dreaded relatives, and these have an impact on our lives. But what we can change is our attitude to our ‘heaven luck’ and that changes everything.

Besides, some ‘heaven luck’ things you can change directly, such as your name, and this can greatly effect you energetically. When you change your name you change both your temperament and your destiny. Women need to consider these implications when changing name through marriage. We can also conciously improve a child’s destiny by choosing names wisely and appropriately depending on the day the child is born.

You can also change the energetic effect of family circumstances and birth date on you by being conscious of cycles (5th law of universe/the law of rhythm) andusing the timing of these cycles to your advantage and also by reframing the past.

Knowing your fingerprints can help you reframe the past because they help you realise that you chose the circumstances into which you were born. You are the actor, director and author of your movie.

Back to Marie Diamond’s 3 lucks.
According to Marie, there’s
Heaven Luck (the life circumstances you were born into, including your talents).
Human Luck – your attitudes and behaviours that determine what you do with ‘heaven luck’.
And
Earth Luck – the positive and negative influences of the environment that you live and work in.

Feng shui improves your earth luck enabling you to consciously direct the flow of energy around you 24 hours a day. Recent studies show that changing the feng shui of a room actually influences brainwaves!
http://www.learningstrategies.com/FengShui/BrainWaves.asp
According to Diamond, ‘Feng shui is like a form of acupuncture for the unified field of energy that includes your home and body. Activate an area of your home and you start a flow of energy through your body, mind and soul for more success in your career, health, relationships and spiritual growth.’

Here are her 5 basic steps to improve the flow of energy
in your home or office environment.

Step 1. clean your de-clutter your home or work space
Think of yourself as a queen or king taking up residence in your home.
Prepare every room with this in mind. Create space, clear clutter, wipe away dust, clean the floors. Remove all dead and dried flowers. Put out fresh bouquets or bowls of fruit instead. (You need to create a vacuum for new things to come into your life by getting rid of all things that no longer serve you. For now, just hide the clutter in closets.

Step2.
Choose a chair for a king or queen.
Sit on a strong, solid high backed chair with a solid wall behind your back.

Step3.Position your desk
Position yourself like a king or queen where you can see the incoming flow from where you sit. You’ll make the right decisions because you can see opportunities that come to you. However, don’t sit in the direct flow from the door.

Step 4. Position your bed.
Dreams and inspiration influence great decisions so position your bed Sleep in a queen or king sized bed, even if alone. Position your bed so that you can see the door but are not in the flow and have a solid wall behind you.
Sleep with your head towards one of your four best directions.
To do this you need to know your Kua (personal energy number) number.

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

—Marianne Williamson
[quoted by Nelson Mandela in his inaugural speech 1994. The source is Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Harper Collins, 1992.)

Dream big dreams. May your light shine!

With love,
Jena

Day 6 – knowing your conscious mind

Day 7 – the seven laws of the universe -click here to read

Success isn’t a goal it’s a process. We start this process each time we step in the right direction. We do this whenever we become conscious of the laws governing our lives and learn how to make them work for us.

Therefore, on the seventh day of dreaming I bring you –

The seven laws of the universe + plus 7 ways to activate these laws in your life.

The 7 laws:

the law of transmutation of energy. Change is all there is. You can direct this change with your thoughts.
the law of vibration (also known as the law of attraction). Like attracts like.
the law of relativity. Everything only has a value in comparison to something else.
the law of polarity. Everything has an opposite and cannot exist otherwise. (All opposites are just different degrees of the same thing.)
the law of rhythm. Life has a pattern, everything flows in cycles.
the law of cause and effect (also called the law of harvest: as you sow so shall you reap)
the law of gender. Every seed has a gestation period. Whatever you want already exists you just have to know and trust that it is coming

Here the laws are again in more detail:

the law of transmutation of energy . Everything is energy and all energy is in a constant state of change. Change is all there is. It’s just more rapid now than ever before. Learn how to adapt to change and how to use the laws in your favour. Energy moves into physical form. The images you hold most often in your mind materialise in your life.
the law of vibration (also known as the law of attraction). Everything is vibrating (is in a constant state of motion and has a frequency.) The only difference is the frequency or level of vibration. Thoughts are creative impulses of energy. All matter is transparent to the vibration of thought. Every thought you send out has an impact on everything in the universe. Thoughts do not go away and they attract situations of a similar vibration to you. To attact what you want you have to be in harmony with it (align your body mind and spirit).
the law of relativity. Relationships are everything. Nothing is good or bad unless you compare it to something else. Everything in life just is until we compare it. This is the key to stopping self destructive behaviour. To increase your level of vibration be grateful for what you have, and only compare what you have to something lesser. How you compare your situation will either pull you up or hold you down because you change the impulses of energy you transmit.

the law of polarity. Everything has an opposite and cannot exist otherwise. All opposites are different degrees of the same thing. For hot to exist, cold must also exist. Failure is accompanied by the seeds of success. The more you are willing to experience failure, the more you will succeed. You go in the direction you look. What you focus on expands. Constantly look at the good in people and situations. Recognise the opposite then pick what you want to focus on.
the law of rhythm. Life has a pattern, everything flows in cycles. Night follows day. Learn which cycles are active in your life and allow for them.
the law of cause and effect (also called the law of harvest: as you sow so shall you reap). Whatever you send out into the universe comes back to you. goes round comes round. Don’t worry about what you can get. Focus on what you can give.
the law of gender. Every seed has a gestation period. Whatever you want already exists you just have to know and trust that it is coming. For anything to manifest it must have an incubation period. Most people give up too soon. Often we give up just before something is about to break through and we end up losing what we really want. The is nothing new in the universe. Everything you want is already here. You have to know it and trust that it’s coming. What you are seeking is also seeking you.

7 ways to activate this laws in your life:
The power of understanding
The power of mind sets
The power of vision
The power of partnerships
The power of giving
The power of accountability
The power of gratitude

These notes come mainly from James Ray’s program: The Science of Success.

Are you feeling unsupported or betrayed?

Dangling x’s off the heart line

Learn about a marker on your hand that indicates lack of support.

Read this post

Are you feeling unsupported or betrayed?

I’ve been back 2 weeks now from my trip to SA and still
I find myself running.
From what?

Dangling X’s!?

Yes, I know. I’ve left you dangling far too long about what
they actually mean.
In fact, I’ve left this issue dangling so long you could be
in danger of growing this marker on your hand as a result!
(And so could I!)

Let’s see if we can start to rub these blighters out with
the help of this newsletter.

First a bit about my trip.

My fears about spending our ‘summer holiday’ in South
Africa’s mid-winter were unfounded. The weather was
sublime, warmer than here! The bushveld was looking
magnificent with aloes all aflame, no mosquitoes and, we
wore Tshirts! It was great to catch up with family and
friends especially for Jules to get to know his grand
parents.

My courses and consultations went well too. There are now
14 people in SA who can decode fingerprints. If you are one
of these 14, congratulations! I hope you are practising on
family and friends. Thanks also to all who allowed me the
privilege of looking into their hands while I was over
there.

Back to dangling X’s.
Dangling X’s look just like they sound. Like little or big
X’s dangling just below your heartline.

What do they indicate?

X’s that hang like dirty laundry on a wash line are to do
with feeling unsupported.

By whom? In what way?

Well that depends on exactly where they show up.

Let’s look at 2 common places:
1. If they dangle under your heartline below your Apollo
(ring) finger this means you feel unsupported by your
friends.

2. If they dangle under the ‘point of intimacy’, (that is,
the point on your heartline directly between your ring
finger and pinkie) this has to do with feeling unsupported
by your spouse or intimate partner. When this X is very
large it means the feeling is more extreme. Betrayal might
be a better word!

But this is just the first take.

It’s easy to say, ‘My husband betrayed me when he ran off
with another woman.’ but if we look beyond the pain, behind
the veil, is that really true?

It takes a huge amount of personal honesty to recognise
ourselves in the mirror. The only person who can really
betray us is ourselves. We betray ourselves when we don’t
honour our own truth. When we don’t listen to our inner
guidance. When we give up on our dreams or don’t support
ourselves in numerous small or big ways.

Usually it takes quite a bit of not supporting oneself
before one’s partner is ready to collaborate and mirror for
you the shadow side of self betrayal. Ask me! (been there,
done that, bought the t-shirt.!)

If you are feeling unsupported by your intimate partner ask
yourself: in what way am I not supporting myself?

And, what about friends?

Let’s examine this feeling of not being supported by
friends a bit deeper.

I find this one even more difficult to own up to.

Have you ever heard this wisecrack:
‘I can keep a secret. It’s the people I tell it to who
can’t!’ ?
Well, that’s what these particular X’s are mostly about at
a deeper level.

Sometimes takes years of therapy to see that the betrayal
we accuse others of is actually in our own hearts.

When this happened to me once it knocked the wind right out
of my sails.
I always thought of myself as loyal and honest but I broke
a friend’s confidence by passing on delicate (okay let’s
get real here. Make that juicy and highly damaging!!)
information to my husband about a third person (his new
lover!)

I thought as “the wounded one” I was justified in
‘enlightening’ him. But in the process I betrayed a dear
friend. It turned out she was the only person on the planet
who knew that particular snippet of information and I’d let
her down real bad by breaking her confidence and passing the
information on.

It’s not a question of whether you can trust the next
person with the information.
The question is, can you keep a confidence? Can you refrain
from passing on gossip?

I once came across a list of quotes by famous people
compiled by a leading personal growth expert.(I forget
which one). About halfway down was this:
‘If you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say
anything.’ by……. your mother!

I thought this was very funny because that is exactly what
my mom used to say.
Probably yours too!!

So how can we support ourselves?

By listening to inner guidance. By showing up for
ourselves. By setting limits. By staying congruent. By not
putting our life purpose in ice. By putting our own joy and
happiness first…

In my next blog we’ll look at these and other ways we can support
ourselves in more detail.

In the meantime, if you need any support, just look at your
hands.
Your strengths and talents are all there.

Warmly,
Jena

Are you a turtle or a hedgehog?

We explored braiding on the heart line and what it means.

Read this post

I never used to have a bubble or doubling on my heart line!
This is something I have watched grow into my hands with a
mixture of both horror and fascination over the last 2
years. Doubling and dangling x’s!!!
Did I say dangling x’s?! I don’t want dangling x’s on my
hand! Help!!! Rub them out quick!

What am I talking about?
Take a look at your heartline. That’s one of the 3 main
lines on your hand. The one that runs closest to your
fingers.

Doubling means instead of one smooth line it’s double in
places.

The most common place to get doubling on a heartline is
under the pinkie (Mercury) or under the ring finger
(Apollo) or both. The point on your heart line directly between
these two fingers is called the ‘point of intimacy’. That’s the place
where you get a bubble on your heartline if you were ever badly
hurt by a lover/partner/spouse.

If you’ve got doubling on your heart line that means you’ve
built a protective shield around your heart to stop
yourself getting hurt in the future.

There’s a good news and a bad news side to this little
scenario.

The good news side? You won’t easily get hurt.

The bad news side? Well, have you ever tried to hug a
turtle? It’s not much fun, is it?

Some people are even harder to get close to than turtles.
They’re all prickly. Now, who’s going to be dumb enough to
willingly hug a hedgehog?

If you’ve been hurt over and over in relationships, it’s
difficult to ‘open up’ and be vulnerable. But look at it
from the other side of your towering walls.

It takes a real hero/ Prince Charming to hack their way in.
It’s hard work and
not much fun. Especially if all those spiked brambles keep
growing back!

When you have doubling on your heart line, this is caused by
conflict between your heart and your brain. It indicates a
fear of vulnerability.

The mind says, ‘I don’t want to risk getting hurt. My life
is as good as it is. It’s safer and more manageable to be
alone.’

But the heart would never say that. It only wants to love
and be loved. Deep down we all seek intimate connection
with another human being.

Doubling on the heart line has the effect of turning down
the volume on your heart so that you can’t hear it’s
longing.

If you’ve been living this way for a while, you can
recognise the feelings you want to have, but you can’t
engage because you’re so used to keeping the heart’s
volume as low as possible.

In extreme cases, you feel a ‘disconnect’ between the
feelings you think you should be having and actually
feeling them.

Sometimes we are so starved of turning the heart volume up
that we look for someone else to create it for us. You want
the other person to be more open, more interested, more engaged
because you don’t want to be.

This causes the other person to back off thinking, ‘Why do
they want so much from me??’

Vulnerability is what allows healing to begin.
Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness. It’s intoxicating.
And it’s the key to connectedness.

And what about dangling x’s? That will have to be next
week’s topic!

Compassionate Communication
How your hands can help

There’s a very true adage that says, we teach what we most need to learn.

Recently I had a really painful experience related to ego, surrender and the need to be right.

Somebody at a seminar treated me badly and I backed down, thinking I was being mature letting the issue slide. Then, on my way home, I felt a numbness that I hadn’t felt for a long time. This is an empty feeling that you probably won’t recognise, or fully own up to if you’ve been surrendering your will to someone else’s for a while.

Because I hadn’t been in this sort of situation recently I could recognise the numbness immediately. It was as if the fire had suddenly gone out of me. I felt boneless, almost without a will of my own.

As soon as I recognised where this feeling was coming from, I did completely the wrong thing. I over-reacted and fought back hard. This re-ignited the fire in my belly but I smashed a delicate, important relationship in the process.

However, I’ve learnt something essential as a result:
Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up your will or betraying yourself. It means stepping beyond your own ego in an attempt to really understand what the other person is feeling. This includes letting go of the need to always be right. Letting go of the argument.

Genuine surrender means staying true to your own truth but being willing to stand in the other person’s shoes long enough to make contact with the feelings behind what is actually being said. By addressing the feelings rather than simply reacting an entirely different world open ups.

Funny while I was writing this a mentor sent me an email about noviolent communication. I went on a web search and discovered an excellent article titled: Nonviolent Communication Beyond Judgment and Niceness by Lucy Leu

She says, “The symbol for NVC Is the giraffe. Not only do giraffes have the largest heart of any land animal, their height gives them a long view. Giraffe speakers give from the heart, and are able to see far enough to know the consequences of gifts that do not come from the heart.”

“No matter how big the issue, there will be peace if each party trusts that their needs matter to the other. On the other hand, no matter how small the issue, there will be war if one or both parties believe that the other party does not care about their needs.” Dr. Rosenberg

If you’d like to know more about Giraffe language, and the four pieces of information needed to honestly express ourselves to others you can find the whole article here.

To find out how your style of emotional communication may be harming your relationships and how to use your resources to move your life forward, have your hands analysed.

Do you trust your partner, your intuition, the universe?
Crooked or bent pinkie finger

This week we’re looking at issues of trust and where this shows up in hands.
We’ll be looking at 4 different aspects. Trusting others, trusting yourself, trusting your intuition and trusting process/the universe/God.

Issues of trust show up in your pinkies (little fingers).

The energy that runs through this finger and the area underneath it is all to do with communication. That’s why in hand analysis, the little finger is called Mercury. After the messenger god, Mercury, the god of communication.

Are your pinkies straight or curved?

A straight Mercury finger means straight communication. You say it the way you see it.
If your little fingers are curved, this means there is a breakdown in your ability to communicate effectively due to lack of trust.

Straight Mercury types also have communication problems, but this is more to do with calling a spade a shovel. Honesty without tact or regard for other’s feelings can be deadly. (I’m one of these types so I should know. It’s taken me a lifetime to figure out why people keep bopping me on the nose for speaking my mind.)

Back to curved fingers and trust.

Some Mercury fingers curve in, others out. Some curve only at the top. Each means something different.

If the whole Mercury finger is curved towards the rest of the hand, like a banana, this generally means that the person has difficulty in trusting men in general, and their partner in particular (if they are a woman), or women in general (if they are a man). This can result in mistrust and general suspicion in intimate relationships, making it more difficult to be open and vulnerable, which is a requirement for genuine closeness.

If only the tip of the finger curves inward (towards hand) this indicates a need to control the outer circumstances. Severe loss in childhood could cause this marker. The result is, one tries to control the situation, other people, the environment, oneself in order to feel safe…. But what it boils down to is a lack of trust in process.

People with this marker try to protect themselves by playing their cards close to their chest. They wait to see what the other person does before revealing him or herself. This might come across to others as manipulative even though that is not their intention.
Or they may try to second guess, instead of just being spontaneous.

If this is you, it helps to know where these fears are coming from and gradually allow yourself to ‘let go, and let god’. Trust that everything is unfolding as it should. Also, in this world of rapid change, work on self-trust is essential. The only truly reliable source of stability is a strong inner core.

A pinkie that curves away from the rest of the hand indicates a storyteller. Someone inclined to exaggerate, or leave out facts for effect. Storytelling is a gift that needs to be used appropriately.

If this is you, ask yourself, is exaggeration appropriate in this moment? How truthful am I being actually? Exaggeration can be toxic in a relationship because of the tendency to exaggerate the other person’s wrongness. This is a major turn-off. Or we might over exaggerate our needs which can also cause unhappiness.

One of the biggest dangers most of us face is not trusting in our intuition. This is particularly so if you have a crooked mercury.

Your guardian angel says, ‘Turn right!’
And you say, ‘What was that? Did I hear turn right, or was it just my imagination?’
Then, by the time you do react, it’s too late. You’ve been banged on the head or you missed something crucial.

Mercury fingers can and do straighten over time. It’s a question of awareness and making different choices based on this awareness.

Essentially all trust begins inside. All lack of trust is really a lack of trust in oneself. You can only trust others as much as you trust yourself. If we are really in tune with our intuition, other people can’t cheat on us or betray us. We betray ourselves by ignoring our instincts.

How does one build self-trust?

Self-trust is made up of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-reliance. It comes from deep form of self-regard built on awareness of one’s positive and negative attributes.

This is where hand analysis comes in. Having your hands analysed reveals to you more than just your strengths and weaknesses. It gives you a platform for deep inner knowing and self-trust because it shows you how great you really are, and what’s holding you back from manifesting your greatness.

As author Mary Jane Ryan says, ‘When we trust ourselves… we’re safe in our own care.’ We nurture ourselves, treat ourselves kindly, and we learn from our mistakes instead of beating ourselves up about them.

Having your hands analysed is possibly one of the most nurturing things you can do for yourself. It can be a life changing experience. Without a doubt, it’s self expansive.

8 attitudes That Prevent You From Getting What You Want

I was listening to an interview with Homer McDonald recently and was struck by the massive contradiction in what he was saying with my belief in the importance of absolute honesty and transparency/always speaking your truth.

McDonald says one should always find a way to agree with the other person is saying. Then, when you’re on the same side of the fence, the other person will be more open to hearing what you have to say.

“Yes, you’re right, I am never at home when you need me. It must be very painful for you ….’

If one starts from a place of opposition, the other person resists what you are saying and you’ll never find a solution.

This has more to do with kindness and compassion and protecting the other person’s pride, allowing them to feel you understand and empathise with them, than it does with dishonesty.

I think one needs to always come from a place of mutual respect.

So, show respect and compassion for the other person but also practice self reverence. This includes speaking up for yourself (regarding your needs.) and developing healthy boundaries.

As sa Baba once said, ‘You don’t always have to agree, but you can always be agreeable. ‘

Out of interest, here are McDonald’s 8 attitudes that cause all the trouble in partnerships.
Exaggeration2. Guilt 3. Self-pity (unhappiness) 4. Low self-esteem5. Self-righteousness 6. Submission to feelings 7. Blaming and escaping responsibility8. Believing that differences cause problems

Interestingly, at lot of these issues show up in your hands. Issues of trust and communication show up in one’s Mercury (little) finger.

More on this in the next blog: Do you trust your partner, your intuition, the universe?

The key to all change is awareness. Hand Analysis provides a profound and deep level of awareness about who you are and what your unique challenges are. It shows your greatness, the gifts you have to offer and your burning desire (the reason you are on this planet). It also shows what holds you back. It is an affirming and, for many, life changing experience.

Boost your self esteem immediately
From the inside out.

You boost your self esteem enormously though self care.
Each time you stand up for yourself in small ways,
you give yourself a clear signal that you are worth it.

There are a million ways to do this.
Think of all the things you shouldn’t be doing (things not in
your interest) but you are still doing.

Choose one thing. eg. give up one small thing you know is bad for you.

Let’s say it’s coffee.
Each day you don’t have coffee your self worth goes up.
As soon as you break your promise to yourself, your self worth plummets.

Choose one small thing you know you should be doing but aren’t.
Do it every day as an act of self love.
Reward yourself every week for keeping to your promise to yourself.

See what happens.

Mother’s Day thought

I heard this cute joke about transformation yesterday
and because it’s Mother’s Day today it seems a relevant
time to share it with you:

Two caterpillars were sitting on a leaf when a butterfly
flew past.
The one caterpillar turned to the other and said,
‘They’ll NEVER get me to fly in one of those things!’

This makes me smile because it’s so true.

There are phases all of us have to go through
whether we like it or not.
And whether we believe it or not.
And, who knows, it might even be better on the
other side!

It’s the pupa stage that most of us keep avoiding.
What goes on in there is more than mysterious.

Metamorphosis sounds so grand. But what really happens
is more like total meltdown. Not one cell stays the same.
All of us have to go through this process sooner or later,
one way or another, if not in this lifetime maybe the next.

We birth ourselves. And we can’t help not doing it.
In this sense we are all mothers. (Or mothers -to-be.)

So, happy Mother’s Day!
😉
May your time in labour be as short and pain-free as possible.

What are your hands trying to tell you today?
Hand color: yellow hands, red hands, white hands, blue hands, pink hands

Are you losing energy unnecessarily?
Are you hiding your deepest needs and desires from yourself?
Are you ignoring your talents and abilities?
Are you blocking unique opportunities?

Hands have a special way of communicating to their owners. Every day they can tell us something new. New markers or reminders about that can help you move your life forward. Some talent you might be ignoring waves a red flag to grab your attention.

The hollows, quality of lines, relative size of mounds and zones shows where you are leaking or over focussing energy.

The colour of your hands shows where deep needs and emotions are blocked.

Vertical lines show were you have extra energy available to you
Horizontal lines show where you are blocking energy.

Your lifeline shows how grounded you are.
Your headline shows how you process information.
Your heartline shows how you react emotionally.
Your fateline shows how you work with life’s responsibilities.

Gift markers show rare abilities that may block your entire life if under-utilised or unrecognised.

Your fingerprints are the backdrop. Your life’s unique blueprint.
They explain why you are here, what you have come to master.
What will make you feel fulfilled more than anything else.
and what keeps tripping you up along the way.

Your hands can tell you all this and much more.
They are your private maps for his lifetime.

How hand analysis helped me

When I reached the pinnacle of my sports career, I was filled with a deep feeling of emptiness. I knew deep down that cycling wasn’t the real reason why I was here, even if I was inspiring others to get on their bikes.

The same feeling came to me when I reached the top of my field as a copywriter. I was at an award ceremony, and had just won ‘Writer of the year’ award.

Our party went ballistic. A dream had come true. Everyone at our table was whooping for joy, jumping up and down celebrating, hugging me, kissing me as I returned from the podium. But for me personally, the euphoria was fleeting. As soon as I sat down again, I went into deep spiritual crisis. Was I really on this planet to sell more beer or lipstick or whatever?

A client came over to shake my hand and I said to her, ‘Please tell me, how’s this going to help the hole in the ozone layer?’ She left swiftly with a strange look on her face and I proceeded to get roaring drunk.

I don’t know how I drove my car home that night. Angels must have taken the steering wheel from me and given it back just as I got home. Somehow I survived a 3 lane highway but crashed my car into my house a few seconds after turning up the driveway.

It wasn’t long after that, for one reason or another, all my best work got blocked. I suffered complete burnout and took a half-year sabbatical to go sailing.

Afterwards I tried going back to my old job but something had changed in my head while drifting around in the Pacific at the mercy of wind and waves. I couldn’t take deadlines seriously anymore. At the end of hurricane season I went back to sea, searching for meaning in other cultures.

Two years later I hurtled head first down another track – motherhood. It was a good place to hide, caring for others. But all too soon the nagging feeling tugged at me again…why am I here? How am I meant to contribute to this planet?

Then one day I had my hands and fingerprints analysed by Richard Unger, who developed the LifePrints system. I was completely blown away by what lay visible in my hands. In one hour he told me more about myself, my soul contract, my stumbling blocks along the way, than I’d spent a lifetime unravelling.

I realised deep down that not only was this information true for me, this was a key discovery for humanity. We are spirits having a human experience. We heal the planet by healing ourselves.

All the information you need to turn your life into a work of art is encoded in your fingerprints. They are your road map for this lifetime. It’s so simple, so accurate, so elegant. Why hadn’t anyone noticed this before?

These days I help other people save years of going round and round in circles the way I did.

What is my life purpose?
Why am I on this planet?
Why do I keep having similar experiences over
and over?

Check your hands. You already have all the information you’re looking for, right at your fingertips.

I made a had analysis and yes, I am from the moon I could be a shaman, that sounds great, I have an excuse for being a little bit odd.

  8. Tyna Reply

Dear Jena, you’ve mentioned about your classes, could you provide us with more information about them.

  9. Martin Reply

I have read in a book that hands analysis is real science due to the fact that all our internal problems are projected on our hands.

  10. Linda Reply

First of all I would like to thank you Jena for sharing with us those topics, I find hand analysis a very interesting science.

  11. Angela Reply

  18. Johnson Reply

I wonder since when I became a girl? I mean I tried to make my hand analysis using “Are you a boy or a girl?” method and I found out that I am a girl.

  19. Barbara Reply

Hi Jena, I got confused a bit I accessed you classes but the price was “12 classes for only $444 $297” I don’t understand it.

  20. Dorothy Reply

Dear Jena Griffiths, I just wanted to tell you that I read often your blog, and I am in love with it, I like your style of writing.

  21. Michaela Reply

Till I found your blog I was a bit skeptic about hand analysis, but I’ve tried it on my hand and it is really working.

  22. Brandon Reply

Hi Jena I have a question my life line is broken, I tried to figure out using your method but failed, what could it mean.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

HI Brandon, A broken life line has NOTHING to do with how long you are going to live. If someone says they can see this in your hands run away as fast as your legs will carry you. I would have to see your hands but it probably just means you are a workaholic. It will help you to do some body related discipline: yoga or tai chi, dancing or a martial arts to make you more grounded. Think of your life line like an anchor. No strong anchor, find substitutes.

  23. Gerald Reply

To be frank with you, I still don’t understand how it is possible that all our past and especially future is written in our hands.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

      Gerald,
Your future is not written in your hands. You are making it up as you go along.
Strong emotions and thinking styles register in your hands and everywhere else in your body.
As caroline Myss says, “Your biology is your biography.”

  24. Debbie Reply

Can you explain me what is the sense of using hand analysis, it is not a science, its a simple trick used to take your money for promises.

  25. Agnes Reply

I am confused, why then it is possible to predict your life but not your death. I mean if it is all written on your palms.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

      Agnes,
I don’t do predictions of any kind. One can see a lot of really helpful things in hands. Your incredible potential and where you might be blocking it. You can also see what triggers you and knowing this really helps you manage your emotions.

  26. Robin Reply

Hmmm so what is the difference between going to a shrink and to a hand analyst? if they are telling the same.

  27. Zane Reply

What can hand analysis tell you? only your character, well I guess everybody knows his character, smth else?

  28. Florence Reply

Jena, I want to know are you offering some offline tutorials on hand analysis, cause I don’t really like watching videos.

  29. Polly Reply

I am fascinated with hand analysis since I was very young but couldn’t find someone to teach me, I would like very much to attend your online classes, are there any free places?

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

If you go through all my previous blogs you’ll find a lot. And there’s a lot more coming. Make sure you4re on my address list.

  30. Stephani Reply

Although I am a bit confused about hand analysis I hope that attending your seminars will help me understand the process and improve my knowledge.

  31. Spencer Reply

Congratulations Jena I’ve heard that you are now on Corsica, it must be interesting there, by the way is there any difference between hands of different cultures?

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

      Hi Spencer,

Corsica was great. I’m now back preparing some new material.
I find there are some differences just as there are different ways of thinking.

  32. Lee Reply

I got a bit confused, about hand analysis, is it working or not, I read hundreds of bloggers saying that it is and contrary so what is the truth.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

Lee, I don’t blame you for being confused. Make sure you have your hands analysed by someone who was professionally trained and certified. Always check the person out thoroughly and make sure they are qualified to analyse fingerprints. Hand analysis is about empowering you to wake up to your incredible potential. Don’t listen to anyone who makes you feel the opposite.

  33. Winifred Reply

Dear Jena, but is your previous classes covering all topics on hands analysis which you discuss at seminars?

  34. Mary Reply

A few days ago I bought an old book dated 1894, I wonder did hand analysis change since that time.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

      Mary,
Not only has hand analysis changed radically but so have hands. The hands that were around a century ago are very different to the hands one finds today. Also, you need to know that the latest techniques used by professional hand analysts have not been published. If you are talking about Benham’s book The Laws of Scientific hand Reading, this is a very good book but totally out of date. It is however the foundation of Richard Unger’s work.

  35. Christina Reply

Thank you for this amazing blog, I tried analyzing my hand and it turned out that I have curvy lines that means I’m emotional 🙂

  36. Pauline Reply

A year ago a gypsy told me that I’ll become very rich in one year and so far nothing changed, how come it is possible.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

      Well pauline, I don’t predict.
My question is: Did you take any action to become rich in teh last year?
Abundance flows through you, not to you.
Are you using your god-given talents to help others solve a problem?

  37. Otha Reply

Jena I would like to thank you for this informative site, I like it very much, I founded lots of useful types of analysis.

  38. Ariadna Reply

Hi Jena I read some of your analysis and I found that they differ radically from those used by gypsies, your methods are somehow more precise and less based on human psychology.

  39. Ariadna Reply

But still I can’t understand how gypsies can tell so many things about our past if they are using just psychology.

  40. Denise Reply

Last year when I was visiting London I was walking through Essex and a few gypsies came across and start offering to tell me my future, that I’m in danger so I decided to try. On the second day I noticed that my rings disappeared as well as my wallet and my cell phone.

  41. Crystal Reply

I keep wondering if it is true and our lives are predicted. And a simple handanalysis can tell us what will happen next.

  42. Judith Reply

I tried to understand “How rats can change your fortune” but I couldn’t I don’t get what have rats to do with your fortune.

  43. Raines Reply

Hi Jena can you please tell me if there is such analysis called “The Dalai Lama’s hand analysis” recently I got this offer on my mail.

  44. Steve Reply

Our hands really do contain the indelible keys to attracting and growing healthy relationships. Most especially the relationship with ourselves. It is our heart line, the horizontal line that begins under the pinky finger and moves toward the index, that carries the most influence in our love style and our love language.

  45. Henderson Reply

I don’t understand why skeptic people come here to comment if they have a different opinion they can ignore this type of blogs.

  46. Pamela Reply

I don’t know whether it is hand analysis is a science or not, but at least it gives me spiritual guidance and it’s much better than going to a shrink who sits in a chair and just asks you to tell him more.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

This is a very important point you’re making Robert.

Every human is a complex paradox and the actions we take are the result of numerous bits of micro information and social and environmental circumstances.

You cannot predict how anyone will behave no matter how much information you have about them. This is an error that graphologists/hand writing specialists often make: sweeping assumptions that are often unfair to the person who is not present in the room to defend themselves.

I discussed this once with Richard Unger and he said, “You can say, if this person were to steal, this is how they would do it.”
But you cannot say, “This person will steal.” They might be tempted to but not act on these temptations for a number of reasons.

  47. Gerardo Reply

I googled for a beginners guide on hand analysis and I noticed that almost all of them differ, so I don’t understand how come it is possible.

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

HI Gerardo, what’s different? For a beginners guide to hand analysis you’re in the right place. This blog is loaded with state of the art info. Sign up for the newsletter for more.

But can be detected some similarities which can help authorities to track those persons, I mean what is it similar to all criminals.

I think that hand analysis can be effectively combined with palmar massage to treat conditions as they are identified.

  51. Valerie Reply

I tried learning hand analysis and I noticed that there are some similarities in lines for same astrological signs.

  52. John Reply

First of all I think that to believe or not hand analysis is a personal stuff there are people who can’t understand it due to the fact that it is something beyond their comprehensiveness.

  53. Bancroft Reply

A month ago I watched a show on discovery about how tribes practicing hand analysis were drawing extra lines on their palms in order to change their future, is it possible?

  54. Dolores Reply

I also heard that there are similarities between astrology signs and I’d like to find more, can anybody give me some links?

  55. Ronald Reply

  56. Mary Reply

I have really been looking into hand analysis to see what all the hype is about, and from what I can gather it seems a little bit from both sides. One one side, it is really easy to discredit and dismiss as a joke, hobby or scam.

  57. Johnson Reply

What can hand analysis tell you? only your character, well I guess everybody knows his character, something else?
