This is a hand shape type that belongs to the “Air” type personalities (mental/analytical types).
If you have a long shoe-box shaped hand (Air) with a dominant (long) middle finger then you’re this type.

The middle finger dominance adds a Saturn/Cronus mythological flavor to this type – sober, good at systems, creating structure and meaning.

His creativity and free thinking liberated women from curlers and endless hours under the hairdryer.

What do his hands say?
He has an Air hand shape type with a long ring finger which indicates that he was an analytic yet also Apollonian type:
highly creative and interested in display, being favourite, and being seen.
Look a little closer and you’ll notice he also has a very long pinkie, indicating he was quick sharp and clever. (Mercurial)
Mercurial plus creative – what a powerful combination.
The gap between his head line and life line shows he was an independent thinker – able to break with tradition.
It’s possible he also has a Simian line but it’s hard to determine for sure from this image.
If so, this indicates intense focus. Which certainly was the case.
His index (Jupiter) finger looks damaged. I asked Richard Unger what he thought about this and he said,
“I am guessing that somewhere along the line he rose high then fell hard.”

You might see this color on a teenager’s [...]]]> Sometimes a person’s hands get so red they almost look painted red.

Strong colors in your hands reflect strong emotions. And they can appear or disappear in a flash.
Perhaps even while driving your car?
Red means anger or suppressed rage. For example, due to thwarted ambition.

You might see this color on a teenager’s hands when they’re not allowed to do whatever it is they wanted.
Sometimes the hand stays red for months on end.
If so, check to see what part of the hand is red. This might give you some idea what the rage is about.
Sometimes the moon area of your hand goes quite red. This is the outer, lower part of the palm, away from your thumb.
Here’s what it looks like

Richard Unger says that this color shows up in the moon area when a person is not addressing their unmet, unspoken personal needs.

Sometimes I see this during a hand analysis session. The moon goes bright red as we discuss life purpose. It’s as if on a deeper level the person recognizes that they’re not paying attention to their inner world or life purpose. Perhaps you could think of this as spiritual rage or frustration?

What to do about extreme colors in your hands?

What do the other colors mean?

Blue means sadness
White means fearful
Yellow means self critical.

The color of your hands is always changing moment by moment but sometimes it stays one color for months, even years.

The other day I was looking at a man’s hands. They were really earthy hands with coarse thick skin.
To my surprise, the fingers suddenly turned bright yellow while I was looking at them.
We spoke a while and, as the man relaxed, the color went back to normal.
What had happened?
He’d had a severely critical thought of himself and then had let go of this thought.

These are men and women of honor, who keep their word and are both loyal and dependable. If you had to compare this hand type to a car [...]]]> Some people are capable of carrying the whole world on their shoulders.
They are like 4X4s: sturdy, grounded, built to spend lots of time outdoors.

These are men and women of honor, who keep their word and are both loyal and dependable.
If you had to compare this hand type to a car you’d say they’re Jeep or a Land Rover rather than Volvo or Lamborghini.
But like 4X4s, there are numerous models. You can have the no-frills version, like the hand below. (Note how there are virtually no lines.)

Or you can have the more elaborate Land Rover, packed with hi-tech sensors and other sophisticated equipment.
For example, the hand below is also an Earth hand (square palm plus short fingers) but notice all the fine lines and more refined texture.

Both these types are salt of the earth. If he’s your friend, he’s your friend forever. Both of them love the outdoors.
So what’s the difference?
The first hand you might find in a carpentry, on a building site or running the family farm.
The second hand is a psychologist who runs workshops outdoors helping his clients become more grounded.

Now add to this the finger lengths for a more advanced analysis:
Is the index linger longer than normal? This is called the Master of my Domain type.
Or is the middle finger longer? the Forest Ranger type.
Or is the Ring finger longer? The carpenter or artisan type. (type 1 above)
Or is the pinkie longer than normal? The Sand-bagger (someone who’s clever but you’d never guess).
Or is the Venus zone extremely large? Like hand 2 above.

So you see, just by looking at the overall shape of a hand you can already learn an enormous amount about who you are and what you’re best at. Each of these types has his or her own unique strengths and challenges.

One indicator is when your career line (the line running up from your wrist towards your middle finger,
also called a fate line or a Saturn line) is really strong and then joins forces with the energy of your heart line.

How does this look?
As if two rivers become one, instead of one simply crossing over the other line.

Action steps you can take right now

Are you spending enough time with your loved ones?
You might think you’re loving your family by putting in long hours to be successful so that you can give them a better lifestyle.
But children need your attention and time more than material things. And they grow up so fast.
This opportunity doesn’t linger. Most older people, when asked what they would do differently if they could live their life over say they wish they’d spent more time with their children.
Maybe re-look your priorities.
