Are you beating yourself up unnecessarily about negative markers in your hands? Every day people write to me in a state of distress because of markers they’ve seen and what they might mean.

For example, they say, “I have a broken life line, does that mean I’m going to die young?” Or they say, “I saw a picture in a book of a suicide victim’s hand. It looks just like mine. Does this mean I will commit suicide?” Or, “My child has a Simian crease, does this mean ……?” or “I have no Fate line does this mean …..?”

What you need to know:

There are no good or bad markers in your hands.
You can use any marker in your hand to empower yourself or to disempower yourself.

What is the story you are telling yourself about yourself and why?

When other people give you a new story, from your hands or any other source, ask yourself:
Does this information empower me or disempower me?
What does it do to my energy?

Do I feel expanded or contracted?
Accept only what expands you.

On re-dreaming your life: Eyjafjallajokull

I’m in the pooh again. Along with everyone else living in rural Switerland.

Why?

The farmers have come out of hibernation and are spraying the stuff at us from all angles. Even though, only the other day, we were all given heaps of high quality fertilizer from Iceland. Absolutely free, without even lifting a finger.

I think its called obligatory abundance.

Actually they let the cows back out to play on the same day aeroplanes were allowed back in the skies above. So, after 6 glorious days of silence, suddenly the sounds we normally take for granted all arrived back on our doorstep in one jangled tangle.

To tune you in to my wavelength, I’ve made a recording for you. (See link on my previous post). Download it absolutely free and play it on your ipod or in your car so you can tune in to the pristine energies of the Swiss Alps. (A word of warning: Listen to it at your own risk! : )) You might start thinking like me!)

And run out into the street naked, like Archimedes, shouting ‘Eyjafjallajokull. Eyjafjallajokull.’

So what does Eyjafjallajokull have to do with re-dreaming your life?

And what does it mean anyway?

Eyjafjallajokull means no man is an island

It sounds a bit like ‘Eye-a-all-full-a-your-coal’

and that’s basically what it means.

Eyjafjallajokull is a wakeup call from Mother nature.

Not a war cry but a tiny burp. A polite hiccup. Just enough to shatter our rose-tinted illusions.

Of what?

Our illusion that we are separate islands.

Our illusion that we are in control

Our illusion of permanence. that things will and ought to stay the same.

Our illusion that we are not of this world or in it.

Eyjafjallajokull means embrace the paradox:

We are separate and one at the same time.

We’re in charge and we’re not.

Change is what this planet is all about.

Expect the unexpected.

Earth is evolving and taking us with her.

We’re becoming more sensitive to our connectedness.

Our thoughts influence our emotions and our emotions influence the entire collective field.

It’s your and my responsibility not to contaminate the collective field.

Or as Richard Moss puts it: “The most basic form of service you can do is take responsibility for your own mind.”

That may sound very well in theory but how about some practical tools?

How do we deal with negative feelings?

Here’s some of the best advice offered:

1. Guy Finely: Just don’t go there!

2. Use EFT tapping

3. USe Byron katie’s 4 questions.

4. Use Gratitude as a simple and effective tool. Richard Moss: Every negative thought (jealousy, anger, aggression, fear) is a measure of our distance away from the present. Gratitude is a way of coming back into now. Feel gratitude even though you don’t know why. Moss says, we can’t escape feeling fear and we’re not meant to. But we can choose not to make fear-driven choices.

5. Here’s a practicle from David Richo called “the two handed practice”:

“I can hold my fear in one hand and my commitment to no longer act in a fear-based way in the other”. Actually you can use this technique in any conflicting situation. Holding cupped hands out, palms upward. I hold my problem in the one hand and my power to work with it in the other. I hold my unloved situation and all the pain of it in the one hand and breathe into it and in the other my ability to rise above it.

You can do this with any marker in your hand. The positive and negative sides of what I call your inner friends. You hold the light side in one hand and the shadow in the other. Knowing you can always choose.

(Zen master Genpo Roshi uses a similar technique. Acknowledging and then synthesizing opposites. So does my hand analysis teacher, Richard Unger, which he calls the Goldilocks principle: Too much, too little , just right.

The” just right” state of any quality is what I call an “Inner Friend”. The too much or too little states ar your inner enemies.

I figured it out!

Heart + tiger
(The Year of the Tiger starting on Valentine’s day)
= having the courage to trust your heart
and let go.

You cant be all things to all people.
Just as you can’t have 6 sofas in your living room.

Thinking that God is outside you leads to listening to your head over your heart.
(Problem is, inner guidance often doesn’t make sense.)
So then you ask other people for advice, which then runs against your own inner guidance.

This is how you end up with 6 sofas in your living room
instead of one. ie. Clutter.

You don’t know why your inner guidance is sending you to the furniture shop.
It probably isn’t even to buy a sofa. Maybe its to meet someone or get the idea
to knock the wall down between your living room and kitchen.

If you don’t trust your inner guidance you’ll ask someone else if
they think now’s a good time to go to the furniture shop.
And then they’ll say, “Actually I have a sofa in my garage which
you can have for half price!”

And then your angels will roll their eyes and pull all the feathers out
of their wings and say, “See you in the next life time!”

A success story?
A good example is Sam Worthington, the Australian lead actor in Avatar.

He trusted his intuition to shut down his life and sell everything.
He had no idea why.
Next thing he knew, he was on a plane to Hollywood.

Can you say “I am God” without expecting a lightning bolt to strike you dead?
You need the courage of a tiger to do this.
Because actually you are. And the tiny voice in your heart is your umbilical chord
to “All that is.”

This is what the year of the tiger is all about. The courage to trust
your connectedness and let go.

Are you a slumdog millionaire?

There’s a scene in the movie Slumdog millionaire that I just can’t shake out of my head.

In it the hero recalls how he and his brother are led to believe that they’re being trained to become professional singers but in reality they were being prepared for a life on the streets as professional beggars.

After they’ve escaped, his brother explains their ‘guardian’s intentions:

“They were going to take your eyes out with a spoon!”

My first impression was to think,
how can someone do that to another human.

It’s easy to point fingers at other cultures while sitting in padded cimema seats but actually something very similar is going on all around us. It’s more subtle but no less brutal.

Each time you squish another person’s dreams you take their eyes out with a spoon.

What value is life if you can no longer see or follow the vision of your heart?
We do this to our own childen, our loved ones and even to ourselves all the time.

Are you allowing others to clip your wings?
Do you believe others when they say “Your dream’s too big” or “Who do you think you are anyway?”

Whenever you hear the words “You can’t!” run away immediately.
Maybe this person is trying to help you earn a living.
But in the long run, is this a life worth living?

It’s your life.
Never give up on your dreams.

Are e-books a waste of your time and money?

A few days ago I was listening to a mentor whom I admire deeply talk about ebooks and how to use them as a marketing tool. She said something that made my blood run cold, confirming my suspicions about e-books often being a waste of both your time and money.

What did she say?

She said, “Don’t put too much information in your ebook, just enough to whet their appetite so that they come back for more! Besides, if you give too much information up front you’ll overwhelm them.”

Personally I totally disagree. I think marketers have no right to play god by deciding how much information people can handle. When you buy an ebook you expect to get all the information you need, not just a tease.

Actually ebooks are a very strange phenomena. People are willing to pay more than double for a ebook than the printed variety because it can be accessed immediately. At the same time you still have to print them out yourself or attempt to read them on the computer screen.

Research shows that people remember far less information when it is read on a screen rather than off a printed page.

Why is this?

Because the human eye is designed for reflected rather than radiant light.

Long term we need to come up with a way for computer screens to reflect light rather than radiate it. When this is achieved it will be a massive leap for humankind.

Back to immediate gratification. I was shocked to learn from another source that more than 80% of the people who buy an ebook will never actually get round to reading it.

Why not?

Because buying an ebook feels like you are taking action on a pain. You don’t feel that pain as sharply once you’ve bought the book. Your mind tells you you’ve solved the problem. So then the tendency is to put off reading it, until you forget you actually bought it and soon you’re back to square one and ripe again to buy another ebook on the same topic.

Another problem with ebooks is the pricing. These days unscrupulous online marketers have access to highly sophisticated research based on cutting edge psychological testing.

What do they know that you don’t?

They know that you are more likely to buy an ebook if it is priced as $97 than if it is priced much lower. Say, $22.

Why?

Partly because of perceived value. You’ve been trained to believe that if it is more expensive it must be better value. (This isn’t always true!)

Also, numbers are mysterious. There is a whole ’science’ about this called numerology (which, like palm reading is another whole minefield of debate. But, just because theories conflict, doesn’t mean you should throw the baby out with the bathwater.) Fact is, an awful lot of money has been invested on researching which prices work and which don’t.

So people who don’t know about this are highly vulnerable to abuse.

Affiliate marketing Programs are essentially sophisticated schemes for stealing your most your most precious and fragile possession.

What’s that?

Your time.

I think what’s happening online is a kind of 21 century imperialism.

In the last millenium vast tracts of land were stolen on every continent, usually in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammad.

The result? Economic slavery and submission of the original inhabitants.

Now the borders are more blurred and the violation is more subtle.

These days online marketers use clever marketing to get you to spend hours and hours working for them for free. Often they use spirit and enlightenment as a justification for this theft.

The people who mostly fall prey to affiliate shemes are relative newcomers to online marketing. In the first year of having a website people tend to spend days and even weeks signing up for affiliate schemes and pasting links to other people’s sites onto their site. This is not how more seasoned onliners do it. They don’t paste other people’s links on their site but instead promote them in emails.

What you need to know about Affiliate marketing

You will not make money signing up for other people’s affiliate schemes unless you have a big list really know what you are doing, or if team up with other people in joint ventures or are willing to make this your main focus.

If you don’t have a list you’re in danger of jeapodarising valuable relationships by trying to sell stuff to your friends.

People get sucked into online marketing because they think they will make quick easy money online. This is a one way ticket to hell.

Ask yourself honestly, why am I doing this? If you think online marketing will help you create enough passive income so that you can have time to do the think you really love, this is faulty thinking. Online marketing is a full time job and becoming an affiliate marketer is really the first step on a long costly apprenticeship.

Do you really wish to spend hours and hours online? Is this the highest expression of your excellence? Wouldn’t it be better to serve the world doing what you really love. Living your life purpose?

Sometimes getting involved in these schemes is a way of avoiding living your true calling.

Why is that?

Many people rather go broke than live their life purpose. This has to do with your life lesson, the thing that triggers you, causing you to dump your energy if you are not aware of what you’re doing.

If you are thinking of starting your own affiliate scheme, first ask yourself: are you willing to abuse unconscious people and get them to freely give up their precious time to promote you, knowing full well that the hours they spend will never be repaid?

You cannot benefit from free stuff unless you pay for it somehow.

why can’t you benefit from free stuff?

It’s physically impossible.
Why?

Information is energy.
Energy cannot be transferred unless equal and opposite.

An energetc exchange needs to take place for you to benefit fom free stuff.
Online marketers know this and that’s why the flood of free stuff. You need to become very conscious and selective of what you take.

You can do this 4 ways.
1. service exchange: the easiest, simply promote the source for free
2. an exchange of skills
3. pay money somehow
4. end up paying through loss of your lifeforce/ taken through your cell tissue. This results in illness.

If you dont pay, your system will try to protect you by blocking your ears:
You’ll undervalue the work
or not read or use it
or forget it
or you’ll get angry with the person trying to give it to you because deep down you know if you don’t pay it’ll cost you in some other way.

The easiest is promote what resonates with you for free.
