How to H’oponopono your life lesson

Life purpose, life lesson

“Any time we think the problem is “out there”, that thought is the problem.” Stephen Covey

I’d like to share something I’ve been playing with the last few weeks.
A wonderfully simple way to free yourself of limiting thoughts.

Probably you’ve already heard of Ho’oponopono and even use it.
But have you tried it on your yourself, and specifically your life lesson?

What is Ho’oponopono?
An Hawaiian technique that helps you clear your inner world of old thoughts and memories, and, as you do so, your outer world changes.
The way I see it, there are 2 ways to use Ho’oponopono.
1. applying it to problems that are “out there” – the outer world mirrors your inner world.
2. applying it to inner limiting thoughts as you notice them.
This second application can be used with or without input from your hands, but when used together with your fingerprints, it’s a game changer.
Let’s jump right in and practice a bit, then we’ll explore where it comes from, background stories and more.

How do you do it?
Whenever you have a limiting thought about yourself of any kind (think life lesson) simply apologize to yourself for having the thought. Says Len, “We are stuck in old data.”
Here’s all you need is to say to your inner child: “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”
You can say only one of these sentences. Or all four.
Note, you are not talking to others, you are talking to your inner child who is operating according to old data you created. The full process has 20 steps of working with the inner child see here.

Ho’oponopono is about working with your inner family (father, mother , child/ Super Conscious Mind, Conscious Mind and Subconscious Mind ) particularly about developing a trusting relationship with your inner child (Subconscious Mind).

More about Ho’oponopono –
The practice caught the attention of the healing world in 2005 when a story spread like wildfire about a Hawaiian called Dr Len who healed an entire ward of dangerous mentally ill criminals. The thing that captured everyone’s imagination was that he didn’t even work directly with the inmates. He simply took their files into his office and quietly worked on himself (talking to his inner child) using Ho’oponopono techniques. Owning, loving and releasing the parts within himself that each inmate represented.

He did this mostly by developing a relationship with his inner child, asking it to please let go of the old data by saying, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”
When Dr Len (Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D.) first arrived at the clinic, no-one wanted to work there as it was a really dangerous and depressing place. Nothing else was done besides Ho’oponopono. Gradually things started improving at the clinic and after a few years there were such huge changes in everyone that most of the patients were released. Eventually the ward was closed. The story has since been verified as true by eye witnesses and Len himself, and was written up in a book by Joe Vitale. If you’d like the background theory about Ho’oponopono and how it works get the documents prepared by Dr Len directly from a trained facilitator on Dr Len’s website.

In Dr Len’s words: “Ho’oponopono sees each problem not as an ordeal, but as an opportunity. Problems are just replayed memories of the past showing up to give us one more chance to see with the eyes of love and to act from inspiration.”
“I had to take complete responsibility within myself for actualizing the problems outside myself,”
Whatever appears in your life, no matter how it got there, is up for healing simply because it’s now on your radar.” (Ihaleakala Hew Len, p.179, Zero limits, Joe Vitale). (Note: Vitale’s book doesn’t actually teach Len’s method. This can only be learnt through taking a course.) Some videos with Len teach the basics: see some on youtube..
Especially working with your inner family. here’s a video of Len teaching this.

Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian word meaning “cause perfection”. It is quite a mind bend because it practically demonstrates that whatever problems are out there are a reflection of your own inner canvas. It’s your movie and hence your creative responsibility.  Usually we try to blame or act on the world instead of clearing our own inner world. But that’s like trying to apply lip stick to your mirror reflection instead of onto your own lips. Rather frustrating and messy. 🙂

Dr Len likes to quote Shakespeare’s sonnet 30. “Each of us came in with our “fore-bemoanèd moans” already made. Problem memories have nothing to do with people, places, or situations. They are opportunities to be set free.”

Personally I think this fits well with Richard Unger’s fingerprint thesis: your “fore-bemoanèd moans” are visible in your fingerprints – as your life lesson. There’s nothing actually to fix. All that’s required is self compassion. This then unlocks your purpose.
Ho’oponopono is a practical way to do this. It’s a good tool to offer clients and to use yourself, on your life lesson and in general, with any “problem” that shows up on your radar.

I’ve used this specifically for strong earth and air/fire types that have trouble getting into their feelings. But equating it to the lesson is spot on! Thank-you Jena, it’s a life saver. 🙂

    Hello Jena,

I would like to tell about ho’oponopono, Dr. Hew Len and about Morrnah Simeona.

    Please let me share this:

Dr Hew Len published incorrect information about ho’oponopono, and about his story about Hawaii State Hospital and his job there. Dr. Hew Len says in several interviews, articles, and in the book “Zero Limits” he healed his patients with a mantra (im sorry, please forgive me, i love you, thank you.). Thats incorrect, this are fake news. The whole world believes this things…

Michael Micklei knows Dr. Hew Len already at the time while Dr. Hew Len worked in the Hawaii state Hospital in the 1980s. Michael Micklei and Dr. Hew Len gave togehter Ho’oponopono Seminars. Morrnah Simeona (1913 – 1992) was a native hawaiian kahuna. Michael Micklei accompanied Morrnah much time. He worked with Morrnah around 5 years together. Morrnah lived in Michael Mickleis and Yvettes home in Germany until she passed away in 1992. Michael Micklei translated Morrnah’s 14-step ho’oponopono to german. He has been authorized to do so by Morrnah Simeona.

Michael Micklei from Pacifica Seminars says, that Dr. Hew Len have in the Hawaii state Hospital his patients healed with Morrnah’s Ho’oponopono-Process. Never with a mantra.
Morrnah Simeona adapted the traditional Ho’oponopono to today’s times and realities. She has developed a 14-step process. This is a modern version of the traditional Ho’oponopono process. Morrnah has founded the “Pacifica Seminars” in the 1970s and then the “Foundation of I” to spread her 14-step ho’oponopono around the world. She made it possible for all people to solve their problems with her 14-Step Ho’oponopono.
In september 1990, Morrnah and Yvette Mauri founded the “Pacifica Seminars” in Germany (see http://www.pacificaseminars.de). Pacifica Seminars Europe is the only organization in Europe, where you can learn Morrnah’s original Ho’oponopono-process today. In Hawaii, Ramsay Taum also spreads the Ho’oponopono-process of Morrnah.

Please let me share a comment of Michael Micklei. He says in a comment to an another person:

    Quote:
    “Aloha xxx,
one can clearly see that you love ho’oponopono. My wife and me and many people in Germany do it also. But let me share some knowledge I am aware about Dr. Len. I was working around 5 years with Morrnah, the last year she lived in our home in Kirchheim nearby Munich, she passed away nearly in my arms. So pls let me share this:

SITH is not a registered TM by Dr. Len or “The Foundation of I”. It is registered in the USA by the Lucas Film several times for the “Lords of SITH”, which are the Lords of Darkness.

Dr. Len never healed in the mentioned hospital by only saying over and over “I love you” and “Thank you” to the “I”, Morrnahs word for the Source, for Divinity. Instead he used Morrnahs 12 (or 14) step process only, twice or three times a day. Every day he walked through the hospital he looked carefully to the patients, the doctors, his feelings. He taped this. And asked Divinity to heal his karmic bondages with these persons and matters. A hard job for three years. Divinity accepted the plea and healed. 2 persons were not healed, as there were no karmic bondages with Dr. Len.

Morrnah gave him this kind of order to do so (and at that time he worked really for the good to help Morrnah for her special spiritual job) and in classes, we both attended between Nov. 86 and later, Dr. Len was always telling in detail at the beginning that he was doing exactly this, nothing else. NO mantra was mentioned, never. At that time, Dr. Len was a student of Morrnah like me, so why and how could he use a quite different way in the hospital – and at the weekend in classes he said the opposite? Morrnah was also complex clairvoyant, she could see and hear everything.

All so called tools of Dr. Len (except 2 or 3) were developped by Dr. Len after 1992, which are only temporarily harmonizing or calming down – NOT cleansing, NOT being any ho’oponopono, as they are not mutual. They are (powerful) magic tools. They are not bad in itsself, but they block people to learn authentic ho’oponoponos – traditional ones or the one of Morrnah. People like those easy magic ways, they really think to heal karmic stuff of hundreds and more reincarnations by 11 words.

It is clearly the good part of Joe Vitale’s job to spread the name of ho’oponopono from the time of “Zero limits” across the world – but the illusion is inclusive: people know the name, but did not hear about the real content of ho’oponopono or even forget it. Pls keep in mind Dr. Len’s words (received by his divinity) in Zero Limits: “I’ve been told to kill the Divine to be home.” To kill the Divine? Well, starting to take him out from the cleansing. This does not seem a path up to the mountain.
    mahalo for sharing.”

    End of Quote

Dr. Hew Len never healed with a mantra “i love you, please forgive you, im sorry, thank you.” in Hawaii State Hospital. This mantra is not ho’oponopono, and it is not hawaiian.

Nobody talks about Morrnah’s 14-step Ho’oponopono today. Morrnah’s Ho’oponopono is no longer known to anyone today. Many people were misinformed by Dr. Hew Len and by the Book “Zero Limits” and by another books and organisations. Dr Hew len does not speak about Morrnahs 14-step ho’oponopono-process anymore and he doesen’t speak about he healed his patients with Morrnah’s 14-step ho’oponopono-process in Hawaii State Hospital. The people are misinformed. What reason have Dr. Hew Len to tell this lie? I don’t understand it…

Michael Micklei has written a report about Dr. Hew Len and the healings in Hawaii State Hospital that happend with Morrnah’s 14-step Ho’oponopono. Please let me share this link (is only in german language, please use Google tanslator to translate it):

Please share it and spread this information to another people 🙂 It is in the interests of all people.

    Aloha and greetings

    hi Patrice,

I think there is a misunderstanding between what Vitale says and what Dr Hew Len teaches. I attended one of his workshops in London (end 2015) after this post was written and he follows a 20 step process that deeply acknowledges and respects the lineage. See his on his homepage: “IZI LLC sponsors Self I-Dentity through Ho’oponopono® (SITH®) is an updated Hawaiian problem solving process to release memories that are experienced as problems.SITH® was developed by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, a Hawaiian Kahuna Lapa’au. She was recognized in Hawaii as a Living Treasure of Hawaii in 1983.”

Vitale wrote in his book that he had attended a course by Len on these 20 steps but was not allowed to write about the process he had learnt. he therefore grossly simplified. So perhaps this is where the confusion sets in? Why not take this matter up with Len’s master coordinator Mary Koehler

    Aloha and greetings

    Dear Jena, Dear All

Regarding the contribution by Patrice C. I would like to add a information.
Pacifica Seminars offers a home course in English.

You can Learn the original Ho’oponopono process (the actual version of October 1991), which was developed by Morrnah Simeona.

the title of the home course:

The Coronation of Consciousness – A Divine helping hand through the Ho’oponopono of Morrnah Simeona – by Michael Micklei.

    You can get it here:
    https://www.pacificaseminars.de/en-hooponopono-english-hooponopono-home-course.htm

I know the home course and this original ho’oponopono-process of Morrnah since 8 years.
    I use it every day.
    I highly recommend him.

Morrnah Simeona worked on this Ho’oponopono process for over 19 years.
Dr. hew Len successfully tested this process at Hawaii State Hospital.
    Here is the prove:
    https://www.pacificaseminars.de/en-hooponopono-english-hawaii-state-hospital.htm
The results were tremendous and bordered on a miracle.

    Please remember:
Morrnah’s Ho’oponopono is a gift to the world.
According to Morrnah, it is a gift from our Divine Creator to His creation.

I wish that all people can make use of this process.

I wish you a lot of inspiration and God’s help and strength by your actions.

    Peace

PS: The Pacifica Seminars website has very important information about Ho’oponopono and Hawaii.
