Do you have family issues?

The gap between your headline and your lifeline show how independent you are in your thinking from the group(s) you belong to. This includes family.
Usually the headline (your thinking style) and the life line (family line) are connected a little way before they part directions.
But sometimes this connection is much longer than normal. And sometimes these two lines don’t connect at all.
Let’s look at what this looks like first and then what it means.
I’ve marked the head line in blue and the life line in purple.
Here’s an example of an average length connection. They just meet briefly at the edge of the palm or they run together for a short length.

Below an example of where the head line is totally independent, and doesn’t touch the life line at all.

life purpose hand analysis classes worldwide
This is called an independent thinker. You’re able to hold your own council.
This is very different to the example below where the headline runs together with the life line for a really long time.

This is called a dependent thinker. The person thinks like the group they are part of. Tradition, and being in alignment with family, and what the group thinks is important.
Now look at your own hands.
Which of the three above are your hands similar to?
When the lines are separate that shows you’re an independent thinker, not much influenced by “group think” or traditions or family.
When the lines run together for a long time this indicates that your style of thinking is more traditional and family orientated. Group interdependency is important
Now have a look at the hand prints below.
bubbles between head line and life line, how to read a palm, professional hand analysis classes online
Note how long the head lines are joined in these hands and the huge bubbles that have formed between them. (Marked in red.)
Bubbles mean trouble.
So this indicates lots of trouble/family stuff going on in a hand where family is really really important.
What to do? This is a good time to recommend Phyllis Krystal’s “Cutting ties that bind” exercises.

But what if family stuff is an even bigger deal than this?

Get help and advice about family relationships – what to do if there are problems and you are not getting on or having arguments with your family.

Every situation is different. I think you need to see a family counselor. Eg an Imago therapist. Your hands can give you guidance too but see a specialist.

Hi Jena, it would be hard for you to believe that as per my right hand I am an independent thinker but my left palm says that I am dependent. The similarity between my both hand are the bubbles which appear because of the fusion of the headline and the lifeline. I am seriously confused, can you please explain.

Hi Jena, I am sorry but I don’t think that our hands are the mirrors of our life always. I have read some of your posts earlier too and I agreed on what you were trying to explain, but in case of these line I am getting a bit confused. My hands say something way different that what i actually feel about my family.

Hey Jena, Thanks for providing so much free and informative info on your site. I’ve really enjoyed it!
My question is similar to that of another individual who posted. I’m curious about how one might make interpretations when lines on the right hand differ significantly from those the left. For instance, on my right hand there is a very large gap between my headline and lifeline. These same lines on my left hand, however, overlap a bit. There are numerous other ways that the lines differ between hands…something I imagine is not uncommon. Could you offer any guidance on this?

    Warm regards and many thanks!

      Hi Dawn,

The right hand is what you show the world. The left hand is more inwardly expressed or at home.

I AM A WOMAN AND HAVE MANY PROBLEMS IN MY LIFE, MY LEFT HAND HAS LIFE LINE AND HEAD LINE DO NOT TOUCH BUT HEAD LINE SPLITS INTO TWO AT MEETING POINT AND ONE TOUCHES THE LIFE LINE AND OTHER GOES TOWARDS THE SIDE PART OF INDEX FINGER ALSO MY LIFE LINE SPLITS INTO TO 3 LIKE A FORK IN THE BEGINING AND ALSO THERE IS A DIAMOND(STANDING SQUARE IN THE END NEAR THE WRIST.MY HEART LINE HAS MANY SIDE DOWNWARD SMALL LINES. i HAVE TWO MARRAIAGE LINES ONE IS SLIGHTLY SMALLER THAN THE OTHER, IN MY RIGHT HAND BOTH ARE SAME SIZE. aLSO MY FATE LINE STARTS AT THE BASE WHICH I TOLD EARLIER ABOUT A SQUARE THAT IS PART OF THIS LINE WHICH JOINS WITH THE LIFE LINE ALMOST MORE THAN 1/4 TH AND THEN GOES UP TILL ABOVE HEAD LINE THERE IS GAP(BESIDE THIS GAP THERE IS SMALL LINE BUT. AND AGAIN START TO GO UP TILL MIDDLE FINGER. ALSO THERE IS LINE STARTS FROM MOON AND GOES AND TOUCHES HEART LINE, IN THE MOON PLACE THERE IS A CURVE THAT GOES DOWN TO TOUCH WRIST, IN THIS PLACE THERE IS A SMALL CIRCLE ALSO ALSO i HAVE A SUN LINE WHICH IS “y” IN BOTH THE SIDE AND IT STOPS ABOVE HEART LINE.I HAVE INTERCONNECTED SQUARES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HAND ALSO MY FATE LINE AND HEAD LINE JOINED BY ANOTHER LINE FROM LIFE LINE LIKE A BIG TRIANGLE,AGAIN HAS SMALL TRIANGLES ATTACHED TO HEAD LINE.

PLEASE CAN U INTERPRET MY HAND.
    AWAITING YOUR REPLY.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE
    vENUS.

I can’t interpret your hand without seeing your hand. All I can suggest for now is to let go of all the stories you are telling yourself about your hands and/or your circumstances.
Feel whatever you are feeling separate of the stories you are telling.
Get the book by Byron Katie called loving what is. And answer her 4 questions:
What is the painful story I am telling myself?
      Is it really true?
How would I feel without that story?
How can I see the mirror in this story?

Be the source of your own joy.

      Good luck,
      Jena

My lifeline became extremely itchy. There is now a 2cm fine cut directly along the lifeline. It has been about 2 weeks now used various creams it will not heal. My friends think I’m going to have an accident or my life is now limited? ???

  8. Lesley Reply

I am an “independent thinker.” ( my head and life lines are completely separate.) however my head and heart lines meet. Thoughts?

    • Jena Griffiths Post authorReply

Lesley this depends on a number of factors. Whether the heart line is collapsing into the headline or there’s a branch that connects them or if the two merge…
