How to build unshakeable self esteem

Self esteem is the back bone of all success in life.

But it can’t be bought – for love or money.
It has to be earned.

How?

Not by trying to please others
but by being true to yourself and your word.

Think of your inner child as a real child.
Are you keeping your promises to this unique being?
Does it find in you a trustworthy friend?

Are you taking care of your own essential needs?
Are you helping yourself be all you can be?

Often we over-promise to others as well as ourselves
This is like a short term sugar fix.

We boost our self esteem temporarily.
Then when we don’t keep our promise
we fall into a deep dark pit.

The trick is to stop promising.
Wean yourself off the sweet fake currency of
over-promising.

Here’s Jack Canfield’s method :
Keep a note book with you at all times
and each time you make a promise
to others or yourself write it down
in this book with the date you plan to deliver.

This Saturday in Zürich I’m offering a mini workshop
on how to build unshakeable self esteem.

We’ll explore how this theme shows up in your hands
and what to do to build a solid platform of positive self regard.

If you’re in the area, you’re invited to come join us for a fun, highly informative morning.

Thinking of your inner child is definitely necessary to building unshakable self-esteem. That is where most long-lasting problems start, especially since you are probably holding onto something from that time period.

Jack Canfield is great and his techniques have worked for so many. I like to combine his stuff with that of Tony Robbins.

Over promise is a concept that I had never heard before about self-esteem, but it makes sense. Promising things sometimes is a huge energy expenditure for ourselves and others.

Hi, i really liked this post, but i have one thought wich I would like to ask You – what are the tips for people who had started building their self esteem and fell down. For example they went back on promise they had given? I’m just wondering if there are some 2,3,4… attempt’s tips?

self-esteem will come from inside, when you will come to know that you are capable to do anything that is gonna come to your way, just have faith and everything will be taken care off.

Self esteem can’t be bought but can be learn. Self esteem for me is being comfortable with who you are, what you say, and way you are doing. Believing that you can surpass anything, being strong in the midst of triumphs, and have the courage to tell the world that you can’t handle everything in your own hands.

Recognize your insecurities. What does that voice in the back of your mind say? Why do you feel ashamed of yourself? This could be anything from getting rid of acne, your regretting attitude, being over-weight or nagging friends at school. You need to identify reasons that make you feel unworthy, ashamed and inferior. Just pen them down and name them. You can also tear these written pieces to start feeling positive on those points.

Even the most confident person has certain insecurities. Lifes circumstances make us realize that we lack something. Accept the reality as there are several bumps down the life’s road.

Whether it is related to your work, school or socializing skills, be conscious not to move around with a mindset that others are better or more qualified than you. To a certain degree, it is good to walk around with a feeling of superiority. However, do not take this attitude too far or else you would be perceived as a jerk.

I’ve found that just doing one thing a day that helps me feel better about myself goes a long way toward improving my self-esteem.

You present some extraordinary ideas and I enjoyed and learned much. Your “8 pillars of greatness” is concise and well written . . .and inspires one to take “action” to find and correct their “imbalances”.

Lack of action is always a symptom of other imbalances in your life”, hits the nail on the head as to why your program can be a success.

  21. Adam Talbot Reply

When you engage in systematic, purposeful action, using and stretching your abilities to the maximum, you cannot help but feel positive and confident about yourself

Keep the faith and just keep moving forward. Always remember, the more action you take, the more money you will make. The money will come, it’s almost impossible for it not to. You just have to keep working hard…

Self confident is important for all aspects of life. I agree with you that we don’t need to over promise to our self and to others. Just be real, be yourself, and love yourself.

To begin with we really should stop lying to ourselves. It’s a big problem for me too. The most typical example is “I’m giving up smoking next Monday”. And repeat it to myself every week.
